A growing membership was being tracked through spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups. Leadership could not answer basic questions — how many members are compliant on CPD, which districts are under-represented, who attended which training — without a manual count.

We built a secure central platform giving the association's leadership full visibility over membership, CPD compliance, events and clinical resource sharing.

The challenge

Platform features

Membership registry

A searchable national database of registered nurses, filterable by specialty, district, hospital and membership status. New members register online in minutes.

CPD tracking

Continuing professional development hours logged digitally, with completion tracking, reminders and automatic certificate generation.

Events and conferences

Conferences, workshops and training scheduled and managed in the platform. Members register online, attendance is tracked, and CPD hours are awarded on completion.

Resource library

A curated library of clinical guidelines, paediatric and neonatal care protocols, research papers and training materials, available to members from any device.

Announcements and communications

Leadership can reach the whole membership, or a filtered segment of it, without maintaining separate contact lists.

What changed

• CPD compliance rose to 94%, up from 61%. Automated tracking and reminders replaced manual follow-up.
• Membership is countable. Leadership can answer questions about coverage and specialty mix immediately.
• Events run themselves. Registration, attendance and CPD crediting are one connected flow.

How it is built

Django, PostgreSQL and Python, with role-based access separating member, executive and administrator views, and email notifications for CPD and events.
